The Desktop Support Technician will provide assistance to end-users in a timely and accurate fashion. This includes installing, configuring, diagnosing (troubleshooting problem areas), repairing, maintaining and upgrading all PC hardware and equipment to ensure optimal workstation performance.



  • Assist users with hardware and software issues
  • Conduct failure analyses
  • Setup workstations and peripherals timeously for new and current staff.
  • Implement timeous software updates
  • Assist in IT training support for users
  • Maintain current individual equipment logs
  • Ensure systems such as BEST TIME, VIP, access control systems, machinery operations are efficient.


  • Action helpdesk
  • Check equipment according to the individual equipment log for departing employees.
  • Conduct audits on all equipment at least annually
  • Maintain asset registers
  • Maintain helpdesk
  • Update helpdesk on completion of assigned task
  • Manage IT documentation and records as
  • Report daily, weekly, monthly on IT unresolved issues, threats and planned activities.


  • Grade 12 (Essential)
  • Valid code 08 driver’s license
  • Qualification in an industry related field and / or a relevant Information technology degree or diploma (Essential).
  • Graduates with at least 6 months experience

    I am a holder of Baccalaureus Technologiae (BTech) in Information Technology, Higher National Diploma in Electronics Radio-Transmission (Bachelors Degree evaluated by SAQA), which has been awarded to me after four years of extensive training.
    I have completed Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) course at Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT).
    In addition to the above-mentioned qualifications, I also completed Cisco Certified Network Association (CCNA) course at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology. Also possess a Certificate of Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA), Certified Fiber Optic Technician (CFTO: 7073940), a Certificate of Assessor, Computer service technician (A+) and Network Technician (N+).
    I worked as a Technical Support Engineer at Richfield Graduate Institute of Technology in Cape Town from January 2007 until December 2010.
    From 2011 to 2013, I was working as IT System support Engineer at: SILULO ULUTHO TECHNOLOGY Academy in Khayelitsha.

    From January 2014 to August 2016, I was working as IT Lecturer at FALSE BAY COLLEGE in Khayelitsha Teaching IT Technical support subjects.

    From October 2016 to August 2017, I have run my own IT business AIM NUMERIC building, fixing and computer networking installation.

    I have been offered a Project Based contract position of Senior Field Services Technician for Edcon at CEB Maintenance Africa (Pty) in Cape Town. The project proposed start date was from 23 October 2017 to the 31 December 2017.

    From January 2018 to August 2020, I was working as Service Agent (IT Technical Support Tier 2 Engineer) at South African Master Distributors (SAMD).

    Although this application shed some ideas of my qualifications as well as job experience, I believe an interview would be to our mutual advantage as this will give you the opportunity to see how I can best contribute to your organization.
