The role of the Assistant Treasurer will be as follows:
Will be responsible for the cash management function in line with the company’s borrowing policy.
Extensive knowledge of market conventions, money markets, euro currency markets, bank processes, payment instruments, exchange controls, foreign exchange markets are required.
Medium and short-term cash flow forecasting.
Monitoring and assisting with risk management.
Foreign exchange management.
Managing cash management bank relationships.
Intercompany netting (settlement of intercompany payables).
Selecting and implementing cash management systems.
Apart from the above functions, the candidate will also be the backup for other treasury functions as required
Minimum qualification of a BCom degree. Preferably BCom Legal / or Financial Management / or Accounting
An Association of Corporate Treasurers (ACT) qualification will be advantageous
2 years’ experience in a treasury environment will stand the candidate in good stead.
Computer literate with thorough knowledge of MS Office
Be proficient in the use of accounting, treasury and standard software applications.
Demonstrate excellent communication skills to ensure professional representation of the business
Demonstrate strong analytical and problem solving ability and attention to detail to ensure a high level of accuracy.
Demonstrate high personal integrity and ethics.
Prior experience of treasury / accounting in large organisations will be advantageous
Understanding and speaking Spanish/Portuguese will be an added advantage.
