Responsibilities
- Maintain and reconcile nine x cashbooks to the bank statements daily
- Cashbook processing (local currency and foreign currency) – nine x bank accounts
- Daily emailing of cash receipts for cash customers to sales staff
- Processing and reconciling cash accounts and following up on discrepancies with all branches.
- Issuing, processing and reconciling of petty cash for four x accounts/branches as per policy
- Perform daily petty cash reconciliations
- Daily cash management and ensuring that money is banked as per banking policy
- Processing daily cash-ups for all the branches (four) and making sure that these have been correctly recorded and no cash ups are outstanding
- Preparing journal entries
- Assist with month end and year end procedures.
- Processing and reconciling Nedfleet account/fleet
- Perform ad hoc assignments as required
- Filing/general administration
Qualifications, knowledge and experience
- At least a national diploma/degree in accounting/finance
- At least three years of accounting experience or similar background
- Experience with ERP systems/software/MS Suite
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles
- Knowledge of payroll taxes (PAYE, UIF and SDL), VAT, exports and imports
